5-ELISA ADAMTS-13 Antigen is an ELISA (RUO) kit for measuring ADAMTS-13 antigen in human plasma or other biological fluids. This sandwich ELISA is designed with polyclonal antibodies coated onto the plate for capturing ADAMTS-13 in the tested sample. Measurement of ADAMTS-13 antigen in human plasma by one-step method or two-step method.
Description
ADAMTS-13: This endothelial enzyme cleaves ultra-large vWF multimers to smaller polymers. Lack of ADAMTS-13 activity or its inhibition (by autoantibodies for example) leads to survival of ultra-large vWF multimers in plasma, which induces a platelet hyper-aggregability with embolic diseases, and is life-threatening. Recently, the ratio of vWF to ADAMTS-13 (both measured by ELISA) has been reported in JTH as a good prognosis marker for future thrombo-embolism (attached). ADAMTS-13 is now available in the recombinant form to treat patients with ADAMTS-13 deficiencies, and the 5D-Elisa can be used to test and monitor recovery in treated patients.
